What are Moles?

The Moles are benign skin lesions that appear from childhood and less frequently in adulthood. They can be flat or slightly raised, very light to very dark brown in color, and have a circular or oval shape with regular edges.

It is rare thetransformation of a mole into cancer, but some data that may make us suspicious are rapid growth, appearance of a darker area, irregular edges, asymmetric shape, bleeding or pain.

In view of any suspicious changes In this skin problem you have to go for a check-up with dermatologist, and if necessary, the mole must be removed with surgery. In people with many moles it is useful to perform a body mapping annually using photographs to more accurately detect any changes.
